Operating System
TeXnicCenter runs on all current Windows versions including the following
- Windows ME
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
TeXnicCenter has been developed for Microsoft Windows and is heavily based on Windows specific code. So there is neither a version for Linux nor for Mac OS available. Providing one would require a complete rewrite of TeXnicCenter.
Other Software
LaTeX Distribution
TeXnicCenter is just a frontend to LaTeX, but does not contain LaTeX's functionality. So you will need a LaTeX distribution for Windows. We recommend
PDF Viewer
If you want to generate PDF documents using pdflatex, you will need a PDF viewer for Windows. We recommend
PostScript Viewer
If you want to generated PostScript output you will need a PostScript viewer for Windows. We recommend
Hardware
TeXnicCenter is a native Windows application and has no special hardware requirements. Every Windows PC/Notebook - even older ones - should do the job.
